Annotation Review: A report that is the output from the SAGE application. This report is a synposis of a subject's movement that includes the user's custom annotations and still images of the subject during movement.
Anterior - further forward in position. Ex: the chest is anterior to the back
Background: Everything in the capture space that can be seen in all 8 camera views excluding the capture subject
Calibration: The process of preparing the DARI capture system and cameras to capture a subject accurately
Capture: The markerless motion capture experience where users capture the raw biomechanical data
Capture Space: The designated area surrounded by cameras that the subject will perform the capture session
Compensation - moving in an accessory plane to make up for a lack of mobility in the primary plane
Connect: Streamlined desktop application that manages motion capture session creation, launches the DARI Capture, and where users access report outputs
Coordination - the ability to use different parts of the body together smoothly and efficiently
Coronal - an imaginary plane dividing the body into front and back parts
Capture Background: The process of taking a snapshot of the capture space without any subjects in order for the system to identify the background from the foreground.
Coverage (calibration): The percentage of area of the camera view covered by the squares on the calibration board during intrinsic calibration
DARI FMA: A report that utilizes the original DARI protocol created to capture full body biomechanics. Many of the motions are used in other DARI Protocols. The goal of the DARI FMA was to analyze range of motion, functional strength, and power production across multiple movements. It provides a strong foundation of knowledge about an individual. Scoring their Strength, Power, Dysfunction and Vulnerability. Providing a simple scoring system that is easily compared over time or within a group.
DARI Performance: A report that is an overview of a subject's overall performance and the items they scored the lowest on. These are the focus and priority areas which guide the expert to focus on in the Detail View Report. The subject can walk away with this report knowing what to work on as well as handing it to any professional to help them.
DARI 360: This report is an overview of a subject's overall performance and the items they scored the lowest on. These are the focus and priority areas which guide the expert to focus on in the Detail View Report. The subject can walk away with this report knowing what to work on as well as handing it to any professional to help them.
DARI Clinician: The primary goal of this report is to quickly communicate clinically relevant data. It accomplishes this by; incorporating data points often observed in the clinical setting and consistently found in research, categorizing data in ways that many clinicians will find familiar, and highlighting certain data that may be concerning.
Detail View: This report contains all of the data for the session. It is one or more pages per movement and displays the evaluated data points in tables and graphs. This report is designed for a professional to use their expertise in interpreting and actioning the raw data.
Flexion - decreasing the angle between two body parts. Ex: bending the knee
Focus & Priority: A report that is a combination of DARI 360 and DARI Performance that can be used on flexible protocols. It is an overview of a subject's quality, performance, and overall readiness. Their movements completed influence the focus & priority areas which guide the expert on what to work on or what data to look into further.
Group By Subject: The group report contains session data by subject. This report is designed for any coach or trainer applying their expertise at a team or group level or wanting a quick look into each participant's information all in one report.
Intrinsics: Enabling each camera to distinguish real world coordinates based on the camera’s physical configuration
Ipsilateral - occuring on the same side of the body. Ex: R knee valgus during the R lateral bound would be be...ipsilateral knee valgus
Joint Vulnerability: A report that demonstrates the quality and performance of each joint evaluated during the scan at a quick glance. It provides a unilateral joint by joint assessment of soft tissue vulnerability and is the centerpiece for conversation between the expert and the subject.
Kinematics - body mechanics concerned with the motion of the joints without reference to the forces that cause the motion
Lateral - being further away from the midline of the body. Ex: the ear is lateral to the eye
Magnitude - size
Max Angle (calibration): The maximum angle of the squares on the calibration board seen by the camera during intrinsic calibration (should achieve 65 degrees or greater)
Mobility - Primary plane motion in a joint
Motion - too little or too much primary plane motion in a joint
Movement: The video recorded task completed by the DARI Motion subject in the capture space
Movement Pattern - how your body moves globally
Motion Assessment Summary: A report that is an overview of what movements were performed, how many data points were collected, and what joints were evaluated. It serves as a baseline for anyone that is scanned and is often used as a handout for a subject to take home and therefore it can aid in the return of subjects to a facility.
Overall Score - Displayed in blue along the score slider is the summation of the performance and quality scores.
Performance Score - Displayed in orange along the score slider is a component of the Overall Score for the DARI 360, DARI Performance, and Focus & Priority Reports. This score accounts for performance variables normalized to lower limb length such as how deep the subject squatted and how far the subject lunged.
Protocol: The list of movements for the subject to perform during one capture session. Once a session is completed using a protocol, certain reports are outputted based on the protocol used. There are 2 types of protocols, fixed and flexible.
Quality Score - Displayed in gray along the score slider is a component of the Overall Score for the DARI 360, DARI Performance, and Focus & Priority Reports. This score is representative of how well the subject performed the movements. It takes into account the quality of their movement patterns and accessory movement.
Report: The outputs of capture sessions in the DARI Motion system. They contain visualizations of data, data tables, data graphs, scores, and images printable or savable as PDFs or downloadable raw data as CSVs or JSON files.
SAGE: (Synchronized Annotation Generator) An application that allows the user to playback recorded movement videos and create annotations synced with still pictures of the subject's movement
Scaling Poses: The poses the subject performs after the skeleton is acquired and before movements are recorded to accentuate their joints and scale the skeleton to their body appropriately
Scarecrow Pose: The default pose for capturing a subject’s skeleton. The subject should be standing with their arms out at their sides, accentuating every joint. Elbows should be lower than the shoulders and forearms should be at a 45° angle making sure they are in front of the midline of the body.
Session: The time in which the subject is performing the designated movements to be analyzed. A subject performs a capture session. One subject profile can have multiple capture sessions.
Set Floor: The second part of extrinsic calibration. The process of defining the location of the origin and x,y, and z axis in the capture space.
Skeleton: The avatar-like figure that tracks the subject in the capture space
Stability: The state of being stable
Subject: The person whose motion is being captured or analyzed. Each unique individual has one unique Subject profile.
Subject Progression: A report that tracks a single subject over multiple sessions compared to each other
UID: A subject’s unique identifier. This particular set of numbers and letters can only occur in the account one time.
User: The person operating the console during a motion capture scan
Web Portal: Access to individual subject reports from other devices
# of Boards: The number of times the full calibration board could be seen by three or more cameras at once during extrinsic calibration (should achieve 40 or greater)
